District to Celebrate Three Ribbon Cuttings

As District 60 continues to invest in innovative learning spaces and expanded opportunities for students, the community is invited to celebrate three exciting ribbon cuttings in August.
A first-of-its-kind for the district, Hyde Park Precollegiate Middle School -- the result of a $7 million renovation at 2500 W. 18th Street -- will offer advanced pacing, project-based learning, and opportunities for students to earn high school credit. A ribbon cutting for this Westside campus will be held Wednesday, August 12, at 10:30 a.m.
At South High School, $2.3 million in improvements complement its new designation as an Advanced Placement and Fine Arts School. Renovations include new flooring, carpeting and paint; gymnasium upgrades, a new science wing rooftop, enhanced auditorium and library technology, and improvements to the school's exterior and entrance. The ribbon cutting is Thursday, August 13, at 10:30 a.m. at 1801 Hollywood Drive.
The district will also celebrate the transformation of Bradford Elementary into the Bradford Early Learning Center, a full-day preschool made possible through the district's Right-Serving Plan. The ribbon cutting will take place Monday, August 24, at 10:30 a.m. at 107 S. La Crosse Ave.
